One of the exercises I give to my students to practise the triads is this one. I let them play the triads of Am, F, Dm and Em up and down the neck - bidirectional. While playing the triad on the G-B-E string or the D-G-B string they alternate also the bass note on the open E, A.
Open A while playing an Am, F & Dm and the open E while playing an Em triad.
The open A for Am is logical as it is the root note.
The open A for F is for many less logic, altough it is a chord note of F (F-A-C). The A has the role as a major 3rd for this chord.
The open A for Dm is similar to F not the root note, but still a chord note of Dm (D-F-A). The A has the role as a 5th for this chord.
For Em we use the root again, namely the open E
G-B-E string
D-G-B string
Some of you maybe noticed already that all the indicated notes above are the notes of the "A" Aeolian or "A" natural minor scale.
