A major chord is build out of a root note, a 3th and a 5th note.
The difference with a minor chord is that the 3th will be flat (half a tone below). (♭3)
so this means C major = C - E - G
notation : 1 - 3 - 5
while C minor = C - E♭ (E flat) - G notation : 1 - ♭3 - 5

In notes the major chords are as follows : notation : 1 3 5
C : C - E - G
D : D - F# - A
E : E - G# - B
F : F - A - C
G : G - B - D
A : A - C# - E
B : B - D# - F#

while the minor chords are with a flat third:
notation : 1 ♭3 5
C : C - E♭ - G
D : D - F - A
E : E - G - B
F : F - A♭ - C
G : G - B♭ - D
A : A - C - E
B : B - D - F#
